Hello TU Leaders!

We hope this rainy weather isn't getting you down!

We are getting close to the end of our programs. Our last workshop is scheduled for March 31, 2016. During the month of April, we will provide a few online training opportunities for student participants to increase hours. Additionally, we will share information regarding the Student Leadership Awards banquet. Last, we will update participant requirements, levels and hours before the school year ends.

Whether you’re a senior getting ready to transition into the real world or a freshman trying to get through the first year of college, this workshop will equip you with the basic resources to prepare for the adult world: money management, career goals, and essential life skills.

The Diamond Leadership Program presents “Follow the Leader” Free Food Fun Friday. We will be indulging in sweet childhood nostalgia and enjoying burgers, fries, and more free food! Also, we’ll have balloon artists, airbrush tattoos, Simon says, and much more fun! Come enjoy a night full of fun that your inner child will love so much!

Maximize Your 24 Hours Workshop

Time management is something we all as students struggle with at times! Come out to the Time management workshop to learn new skills to maximize all 24 hours of the day!

Leadership Movie Night featuring Creed

3/23/16 | 5:30-8 pm | Student Center Reel | 3.5 leadership hours

Enjoy a complimentary movie and snacks with your friends and other peer leaders! Afterwards, students will participate in an engaging discussion and review of the leadership concepts of the movie.

I Did What? Making Sense of All Your Leadership Experiences with Collegiate EmPowerment

Have you participated in leadership training or student organizations this year? Join us for a 90-minute workshop with !Joe Urbanski from Collegiate EmPowerment. We will talk about your experiences and make an action plan for using your newfound knowledge and skills moving forward.

LeaderShape Applications Due

Leadershape Applications Are Now Available!

The LeaderShape Institute is an intensive, energizing, and unique six-day experience that involves self-discovery and learning from practical experiences that build leadership capacities. It is intense fun in a relaxed learning environment. Through this experience Temple students begin to see that leadership is a process – one that LeaderShape defines as a commitment to leading with integrity that results in extraordinary change by living in a state of possibility. Taking place at the end of the academic year, LeaderShape is highly interactive and energizing leadership enhancement program that provides participants with the tools necessary to become a visionary leader.

LeaderShape will take place at Camp Canadensis in Canadensis, PA from May 8-13, 2016. All lodging, meals and transportation will be provided to and from Temple University Main Campus to the site. Students are required to stay for the duration of the experience (all six days).

Student participant applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis beginning on February 28. All applications will close on April 1. Only completed applications will be reviewed.

EarthFest 2016

Volunteer for EarthFest 2016! Volunteer for EarthFest 2016! Last year, more than 7,000 people attended EarthFest, an annual Ambler Campus outdoor education festival promoting environmental awareness through interactive educational displays and activities. We need your help forEarthFest 2016, Friday, April 22! The event will be held on Earth Day on the fields near the large student parking lot. Volunteers are needed to fill more than 100 slots to make this an enjoyable, safe and successful event. Work at an information table, help out in the exhibitor lunch area, and much more! Shifts are available: 7 to 9:30 a.m. (set-up), 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., and 12 to 2:30 p.m. If you are interested in volunteering but can’t stay for a full shift, let us know what time you are available and we will make it work! Volunteers get a free shirt, free lunch, and a wonderfully fulfilling experience! Contact the volunteer coordinators at earthfest@temple.edu or visit ambler.temple.edu/earthfest for more information!
