Types of Nouns
How many types of nouns do you know? Here is a list of four types of nouns. Review each type and the examples. Can you think of other examples for each type?
Common Nouns--general person, place, or thing
Examples: ostrich, toy store
Proper Nouns--names an actual person, place, or thing
Examples: Lucy, Mars
Concrete Nouns--something you perceive with your senses
Examples: beach, drums
Abstract Nouns--complicated idea (can't hear, taste, smell, touch, see it)
Examples: love, honor
