News to Know
Our Valentine's Party is this Friday, Feb. 12th. Students will be distributing and opening Valentines, making a frosted heart cookie, and watching a short video. Thank you for your Perfect Potluck donations....we will be having some yummy cookies!!
Students are welcome to bring Valentine's for their friends this Friday, however I do ask that students bring one for everyone in class (not just "special" friends) to avoid any hurt feelings. Thanks for your understanding. Valentines may be store bought or home-made. :-)
Please have boxes here by Friday! Homework time has been set aside on Mon. and Wed. this week for crafting. Shoe boxes or cereal boxes work great...a decorated gift bag is fine, too. Have fun!!
We will be having our annual Family Chess Night on Wednesday, Feb. 17th from 6:00 - 7:00 PM in the Hershey Library. Hope to see many of you there!!
Hershey is hosting the TSC School Board meeting on Monday, Feb. 22nd and will be presenting our radKIDS program. As the only current Hershey graduates of radKIDS, we have been asked to be present to demonstrate some of our skills. A participation note is coming home today and is attached to the newsletter email for your convenience. If your child is able to participate, please sign and return the note as soon as possible. Parents are welcome to stay for the meeting and then leave with your child once the presentation is over....no need to stay for the boring meeting stuff unless you really want to!! :-) Thanks for participating and helping Hershey show off this outstanding program.
ISTEP Testing Schedule
3rd graders will begin ISTEP testing on Monday, Feb. 29th. 2nd graders will have alternative activities with another adult while I test the 3rd graders. The schedule is:
Monday, 02/29: Mathematics (40 minutes)
Tuesday, 03/01: English/Language Arts (35 minutes)
Wednesday, 03/02: English/Language Arts (2 sessions - 25 min. & 60 min.)
All testing will be completed in the morning; please make every effort to have your 3rd grader here during these mornings. Also, remember a good night's sleep and a good breakfast are always a help. Lastly, please help me emphasize that while the test is important and we should do our best, it is NOT something over which to stress out! Seriously, it's not worth it. If it were up to me....well, we'll just leave it at we'll do our best and then move on! :-)
