We are wild for learning on our Safari of Success! Jan 20
A Message from Ms. Bruhn, Principal
Our team and PTO has planned a celebration of life for Ms. Loyd tonight at 6pm outside on the track. Anyone is invited to attend to celebrate our wonderful teacher, Ms. Loyd. We also want to thank the Bruno family for starting the process for getting a tree planted in Ms. Loyd's honor.
We will be celebrating the 100th day of school on Friday, January 27th at 2:oopm. We like to celebrate being 100 days smarter. Parents are invited to watch from the cafeteria as kids parade dressed as 100 years old or with 100 items or just 100 days smarter!
Valentine's Day is coming! Students will enjoy some food and treats while exchanging valentine cards. Parents are welcome to attend. Please arrive 10-15 minutes prior to party time in order to have time to get checked in. You must check in at the front office with a driver's license. Please see below for times of celebrations:

We finally have Lexia! Thank you to our wonderful PTO for purchasing this program to help our students become better readers. Students will need HEADPHONES or ear buds. Please be sure to put the student name on the headphones and send to school.
Wednesday, January 25, from 6:00pm-8:00pm, the Social-Emotional Learning and Comprehensive Health Division will host a Focus on the Future Community Night at Elkins HS. This event, while open to all, will be geared towards our current 3rd-8th grade families with the intent to drive exposure and understanding of all our FBISD high school programs and CCMR pathways. We are seeking to provide families an opportunity to identify their students’ post-secondary interests, and offer tools to help them achieve this path.
Attention all car rider parents, please be sure to get in the line prior to 3:40 at dismissal. Our line moves pretty quickly now. Parents not in line by 3:40 will need to go to the front office to pick up late students. Rainy days are an exception. All cars in the car rider line must have the blue QR code. Please notify the teacher immediately if you do not have a blue card. Starting the week of January 16 all parents without the QR code will need to park and go to the front office to checkout the student. In the morning, car riders should only be dropped off at the curb under the awning. Please do not use the front circle drive for dropoff.
Career Day will be Friday, April 21st from 8:15am - 10:30am. We are looking for guest speakers to share their career with students. Please use the following link to sign up. Come share with us! Link for presenters to sign up for Career Day:

It is Testing Season
As you may already know, FBISD uses Renaissance Star 360 Assessments (Ren360) to help teachers understand what students know and what they are ready to learn next. These assessments are administered during the fall, winter, and spring to monitor student growth and progress. The MOY Ren360 assessment window is January 17th – February 3rd. Students will be tested at school by their teachers.
To support your child on this assessment, please:
- Encourage them to do their best;
- Eat a healthy breakfast each morning;
- Get plenty of sleep at night.
Thank you for your partnership with us through this assessment process. Results of the Ren360 assessments will be available in Skyward at approximately the beginning of March. For more information about Star Assessments, visit the Renaissance parent webpage.
STAAR Interim Assessments- 3-5 Students:
In February, students in Grades 3, 4, and 5 will be taking interim STAAR assessments. Students will use the same program that will be used for STAAR later in the year. There are many benefits to taking the interim assessments, including: provide data on students in need of additional intervention, allow students to practice with the tools on the online version and more. Students will be taking the assessments February 6-9.
A Message from Ms. Arnold
FBISD’s annual Film Fest is now open for submissions for students or groups of up to three students from K-12th grades. The theme this year is Building a Brighter Future. Mrs. Arnold has spoken to 1st-5th grade about the contest and included information in the PGE Library Schoology course. Most projects are due March 1, 2023, but don't wait! The earlier you get them submitted, the better. While this is not a required activity, we do encourage students to try. PGE had multiple winners last year. For more information on rules and regulations visit the district's Film Fest page at https://www.fortbendisd.com/Page/14219
