Personal Philosophy of Education
By Veronica Randall
I have always wanted to be a kindergarten teacher and now I am on my way to becoming one. My personal philosophy of education will help me to achieve my dream. It will help me to establish a classroom that is fun, safe, and filled with love. I believe every student can learn and in my classroom every student will learn and gain as much knowledge as they can.
Progressivism and Behaviorism
My two philosophies of education are progressivism and behaviorism. Progressivism will aid me in having a classroom that is full of hands-on activities that will peak my students interests and get them thinking and learning. Behaviorism will help me to have a classroom that is filled with rewards, but also has punishments for when a child's behavior is unacceptable and he is not able to maintain self-control over his behavior
Knowledge
Knowledge is very important to me as a teacher. I want my students to gain as much knowledge as they can. My students knowledge will be in the major subject areas of math, reading, and writing. However, I also want my students to gain knowledge in areas such as how to be kind and self-believing. I believe the more knowledge a student gains the better she will do not only in school, but also in life.
