Britannica ImageQuest
With Britannica ImageQuest, you can guide your students to hundreds of thousands of pictures that are appropriate with credible facts listed with each. There is an easy slider to enlarge or shrink the size of all of the thumbnails. You can click on an image for more information about the image. Also, from the picture quickview, a student can cite the information, print, download or email the information about the picture. You can also select multiple images, then drag and drop them into the "My Images" section of the screen for later access. This is a user friendly and credible resource for all grade levels.Technology
Movenote
https://www.movenote.com/site/introAwesome free site that allows you to make voice over presentations. You can bring your own ppt or google slides into movenote. You can even send a video presentation to your movenote account directly through your gmail. Movenote can be created from a device or through any browser on your computer. This might be the answer to doing the same presentation for 40 classes straight...you can circulate and help students while they follow along with your movenote!
Weeding Tips
For the month of January, focus on the 500s section. Books that contain science or math content generally can be kept between 5 and 10 years. Weed books with dated scientific ideas. Also, use circulation statistics to weed out historical sciences, math, or slower evolving fields.
