RED RIBBON WEEK
Helping Everyone Respect Others (Super HERO)
Everyone can be a Super HERO (Helping Everyone Respect Others) during Red Ribbon Week October 24 - October 28.
Meadow Wood students will get to display their super hero skills as they climb the Rockwall on Tuesday 10/25 and Wednesday 10/26 (see schedule below) and learn how to help and respect others.
The week will wrap up with the school carnival on Friday 10/28th 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
MONDAY 10/24
- Kickoff to Red Ribbon Wear
- Students and Staff – wear RED
TUESDAY 10/25
- Super Hero Day
- ROCKWALL – Day 1
- Students – wear Super Hero T-shirts and tennis shoes, socks and pants appropriate for climbing.
- Staff – dress up as your favorite Super Hero (or wear a super hero-tshirt.)
WEDNESDAY 10/26
- Super Silly Socks and Crazy Hair Day
- ROCKWALL – DAY 2
- Students and Staff – silly socks and crazy hair and tennis shoes, socks and pants appropriate for climbing.
THURSDAY 10/27
- Pajama day

- Super School Spirit Day
- Students and Staff - wear your MWE spirit shirts!
Super Hero reward certificates will be given to students exhibiting
"super hero" behavior- kindness, respect, helpfulness, and good character.
Students can take certificates home or have them displayed on our "super hero" wall at MWE.
Mixed Bag Fundraiser Pickup - Tuesday, October 25th
If you ordered Mixed Bag items for the fundraiser through your student, please come to pick up your order on Tuesday, October 25th, from the Cafeteria. Pick-up times will be from 9:30-11 a.m., and from 2-3 p.m. Please make every effort to come during these hours.
All of the items on your child's order form will be together, organized by buyer.

Spring Branch Speaks
Tuesday, October 25th from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., in the Stratford High School cafeteria, SBISD school board members Chris Vierra and Katherine Dawson will inform the Stratford, Spring Forest and Meadow Wood communities about the severe school funding issues SBISD is facing. This crisis effects everyone in our community, and we should all be aware and informed.

Reaching Success with Dyslexia
The Spring Branch ISD Dyslexia Department invites you to join Dr. Stefan Kreuzer as he shares his story.
Dr. Stefan Kreuzer is a well-known and highly-respected expert in the field of orthopedics. He has performed thousands of successful knee and hip surgeries that have helped to relieve patients’ pain and significantly improved their quality of life. Dr. Kruezer will share his story of dyslexia. Please join us for this informal presentation with a question and answer session to follow.
The event will be held on Thursday, October 27th from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the SBISD Administration Building, 955 Campbell Road, Houston, Texas 77024.

Red Ribbon Week is an alcohol, tobacco and other drug and violence prevention awareness campaign observed annually in October in the United States
October 24 - 28 - Pumpkin Book Character Contest
This is a voluntary activity and students may decorate a pumpkin as their favorite book character. Students may bring the pumpkin to the library for display beginning on Monday, October 24th. Winners will receive a book fair gift certificate.
