October Counselor's Corner
Be a part of the Solution as a Communicator
What does it mean to be a part of the solution as a communicator?
Communication that ultimately results in solutions include a number of characteristics:
Active Listening - when someone is talking to us, communicating with body language, or showing facial expressions, are we paying attention to what is being said before we respond?
Body Language - are we aware of our body language when we are talking to others, or listening?
Facial Expression - happiness, confusion, anger, surprise, and excitement can be communicated simply through facial expression! How are you communicating with your face?
Appropriate Response - does your response contribute to solutions or further problems?
These attributes of communication will be discussed during guidance lessons throughout the month of October. Moreover, students who exhibit and/or demonstrate positive communication skills that support solutions will be recognized weekly!
