An Astronomer is someone who helps plan a voyage to another planet or to the moon and explains the mission to the public. They determine the composition of a planet, its atmosphere, and its moons. They also investigate how galaxies are formed and if there are supermassive black holes that live at their centers. As well as that the use sensitive radio telescopes to spot comets and asteroids with the potential to impact earth.


An Astronomers salary is $1,977 weekly and $102,786 annually.

Employment of astronomers is projected to grow 10 percent from 2012 to 2022, about as fast as the average for all occupations.
