VOE (Verification of Enrollment)
A Verification of Enrollment (VOE) form, which the student will need to submit to DPS upon application for a driver license, can be requested online and picked up from the SHS office.
A student must meet the required requirements to obtain a VOE.
- met minimum attendance for credit (90% rule) in each class they were enrolled in semester,
- received credit for all courses taken in the previous semester, OR
- has complied with the conditions established by the school to receive the VOE form.
It might take a day or longer for us to issue your VOE, so it’s wise to request it about a week before you plan to head to the DPS. The issuance date on the VOE is important because the form expires after 30 days if you get it signed during the school year.
There have been some questions on VOE Procedures. VOEs are required to take your student permit testing at the DMV. To obtain a VOE you scan the QR Code (located in the main hall) (also attached above) and complete the requested information. When it is ready you will be contacted via email by Mrs. Gonzalez to pick up your VOE form at the Attendance Window in the main hall. VOE's CAN NOT be requested day of and EMAILED, or FAXED to a DMV location. Please be sure and request your form ahead of time so that you will have it ready.

SHS Colorguard
We had a great run at the UIL State Marching Contest! We didn’t get the results we wanted, but we met our goal of feeling successful after every run! We are one of the top 15 4A bands and GUARDS in the state and that’s a BIG deal! What a great season! Now it’s time to WANDER into winter guard… stay tuned for a show reveal soon! #LHAGD #UILSMBC
Congratulations SOS! We are very proud of you!
Hours upon hours, and days upon days. Seemingly countless minutes of preparation, sweat, and sometimes tears to perfect less than 15 minutes of art. From dark, early morning practices where the sound of the metronome welcomes students and staff to SHS...to the lights burning at Porcupine Stadium on Monday nights...just to get things right. Even after all of that...it's for OTHERS to judge. What gets performed as our best, just sometimes isn't good enough for some...for others, that same performance is near perfection. It's art. Its appreciation is subjective. It doesn't always take into account what everyone else thinks...it is what those are "chosen" to think think about it. Regardless...the Sound of Springtown never fails to put out a quality product. It's what we do. It's what is expected. It's constant.
It was not the result we wanted at the State Marching Contest in San Antonio today. However we can not be more proud of how our students performed and the "feels" they delivered. It is a testament to amazing directors, hard working musicians, and all around great kids.
The instruments may go back into the cases for a breather, but it won't be long until the next saga begins. (Drumline has one more competition.)
As always, we are extremely proud of the Sound of Springtown. Just because we weren't crowned the "Sound of 4A Texas" today, we wouldn't trade you for anything. You're ours...and WE think you are awesome.
Go Band!
Go Porcupines!
Now rest...you've all earned it.

Drumline @ Lonestar Classic
Excellent performance by the Drumline to close out the marching season! The students took home some hardware placing 3rd in their division at The Lonestar Classic. They received excellent comments from the judges and the directors couldn’t be prouder of their hard work and dedication
