God is Faithful to His Covenant
This Wednesday night we will conclude our journey through the book of Genesis as we take a look at how God is faithful to the covenants he has made. We will continue to look into the life of Joseph as God fulfills his promise to be with him and to bless the world through his dysfunctional yet amazing family!!!! The key takeaway is that Joseph remained faithful because he trusted God's faithfulness towards him. For those who would like to read ahead, our passages will be Genesis 41:46-57; 45:1-15; 50:15-21.
Sunday Night Series - Set Apart
This Sunday night is the second week in the Set Apart series. Last week we saw how God has called us to be holy because he himself is holy. This week we will be looking at choosing God's way rather than the shallow lies of the world. For those interested in reading ahead, our passage will be 1 Corinthians 5:6-7.
The Pioneering Work of Christ
I read an article this week about the pioneering work of Christ on our behalf. In it, Glen Scrivener highlights the notion that Christ did not simply accomplish what we could not and then urge us to follow in his footsteps. Rather, Jesus pioneered the way back to God and joins each of us in our journey back to him.
I must admit that often times I have felt as if God was over there, on the other side, while I was left here in this world alone to figure out what to do with this thing called life. The beauty of the Gospel is that I am not alone. Christ made a way where there seemed to be no way, but he didn't leave us alone. Christ calls each of us to take up our cross in this life and follow him. Not simply to repeat his actions but to actually follow him because he is here with us now in each moment of our lives. I pray that the Holy Spirit would reveal the presence of Christ in your daily life and that you would be enabled to see that Christ is with you and will walk with you each step of the way.
