Kindergarten
First Day
Monday is the start of kindergarten. It is a full day from 7:45 - 2:45. Our doors will open at 7:15.
Parents may walk their child to class on the first day.
Use the Main entrance at the front of the building. There will be a lot of traffic in the morning. Make sure your parked vehicle allows for cars to exit the driveway.
A picture station will be setup at the entrance.
Say your good-byes at the classroom door. Do not go into the classroom.
We will have multiple employees in the hallway helping our kindergarten students get to class if you are unable to attend.
Our PTO will be setup with doughnuts and coffee in the cafeteria for Boo-Hoo breakfast, after you drop off your child.
Dismissal will the same. Follow the directions attached below.

2022-2023 TCAP information
TCAP Results
We sent home 3rd and 4th grades TCAP testing information from the last school year Friday.
The TCAP Family Portal is a free, online resource to help inform families of their student’s strengths and areas for growth.
This resource has valuable information including:
•Test history features allowing families to track progress over time,
•Links to Parent Guides, and
•Next Step recommendations, including links to practice tests.
This resource is optional and printed individual student reports will still be available. The department is excited about the many improvements to the score reports which include individualized recommendations for improvements. These changes were made based on parent feedback to be responsive to our families’ needs. Information shared through the portal will ideally be useful for families engaging in conversations with educators about a student's academic progress.
Families can access this resource by registering at https://familyreport.tnedu.gov/login
Data will be uploaded as TCAP scores are released. Families will need to have their student’s USID number to create an account. Your student's USID, which is also referred to as a state ID, is located on the bottom right-hand corner of your student's printed score report. If you do not have a score report to reference, please contact your school and ask for your student's state ID number.

Snacks
The snack program can no longer cover our school this year. Teachers will still have a snack time dedicated in the day for students.
If you send your child in with a snack it should be a healthy light snack, no candy or soda. Items such as gold fish crackers, carrot sticks, or a small bag of chips are acceptable.
Skyward Help
You should now have access to your child's Skyward account. Contact the front office if you are having trouble accessing your account.

Drop-off and Pick-up Lines
Drop-off Line
- We have two drop-off lines. One in the back and one in the front, see picture.
- Avoid holding up traffic on Church street if the front drop-off is filled, go around to the back drop-off. They both pass by the cafeteria.
- Avoid the front entrance for drop-off. We use it for buses, paw patrol students, and employees only. You will be asked to go to the gym doors or to the back of the building.
- The doors will open at 7:15. We will close our drop off lines at 7:40. Students should be in class at 7:45. If you do not make the drop-off in time you will need to bring your child to the front office and check them in.
- There is only one single line in the front and back.
- No passing, unless directed by a school employee
- Students should eat their breakfast at home if not having school breakfast. Students will be asked to discard drinks other than water in a sealed container. We do provide a breakfast for students at cost if they need one through school.
- Allow your child to exit on their own if they are capable. If you need to assist them, make sure they are on the drivers side for quick access.
- Have your child ready to exit the vehicle as soon as you roll up to the building. Playing on games, watching a show, packing backpacks, and finding water bottles can delay exiting the car.
- Pull all the way forward, there will be a cone at the front of the line or someone directing you to pull forward.
- Avoid asking long questions to employees in the line. Please send those via email or seesaw.
- A picture station will be setup during Open House. I recommend coming after school hours or at open house to take a picture memory.
- Be aware of your surroundings at all times.
- Have your child walk in front of your car if exiting the passenger side. It best you see them make it to the sidewalk safety.
- Do not park and walk your child up to the building. There are too many cars moving. You will see daycare parents and employees walking their child to the building.
- We will have Paw Patrol available to help students carry items into the building.
- If you need a pick-up pass, you will need to park your car after dropping off your child and report to the front office. They will help issue you a pass. You must have a pass for pick-up in the afternoon. You will need to have your ID on you anytime coming to the front office.
- Take a deep breath, you got this!
Yellow Pick-up Line
- You will go around the back of the building closet to the main entrance, see map.
- Gate will be closed until 2:30 (we may open it sooner pending on traffic) Call the front office if we get backed up.
- First person in line will pull all the way forward to the side of the gym, see map.
- Do not continue forward if children are present on the playground. Wait until they have all gone inside before moving forward.
- A second line will form on the left when the first line fills up near the ball park road. Some will help direct the first couple of weeks.
- The first person in the second line will pull up the beginning of the back parking lot near the cafeteria entrance, see map.
- Once the first line is cleared, students in the second line will exit the building.
- Do NOT get out of line to join the first line. Your number will be called in the order you arrived.
- Park close to the car in front of you
- Your child will be be walked out to your car.
- Stay in your car unless you need to assist your child with their restraint.
- Cars without a pass will be sent to the front office.
Blue Pick-up Line
- You will enter in at the UMC parking lot
- First person in line will pull all the way forward to Church Street to the left side of the road.
- A second line will form when the first line reaches the back of the gym.
- Do not block the back exit road
- The second line will stay to the right of the first line and move all the way forward to Church Street.
- The third line will go to where the second line curves, look for a yellow line on the ground
- The third line will go to where the third line stops, look for a yellow line on the ground
- The forth line will enter into the parking lot near the front playground and stop at the curve before exiting the parking lot.
- Everyone else will follow this line back
- Do NOT get out of line to join another line. Your car will be called in the order it arrived
- Your child will be be walked out to your car by line.
- Stay in your car unless you need to assist your child with their restraint.
- When all five lines are completed the cars in the back will be directed forward to the flag pole to create a new line near the building. (follow directions from school employees)
- Each line should try to stay to the left as possible to ensure each line can be formed. Allow enough space for a child to enter a car.
- Cars without a pass will be sent to the front office.

School Policy for Lunch Visits
Many of our parents value the opportunity to have lunch with their child during the school day. A parent, guardian, or grandparent may visit their child during the lunch period provided they follow school policy. These guidelines are intended to provide a safe and positive lunch experience for all children in the school. You will need to call the front office at least a DAY prior to eating with your child. This will ensure we have seating available for you. Parents/guardians are required to report to the front office to sign-in. State issued photo identification is required. The Raptor ID needs to be visible when entering the building.
Lunch Guest Procedures:
1. Only your child will be allowed to eat lunch with you. Adults visiting for lunch must be listed on the student emergency card and it must be indicated that contact is allowed at school.
2. You may purchase the school lunch. Children may not share food or purchase food for another child.
3. The visitor’s badge given to you by the office staff when you check-in must be worn on your shirt and must be easily visible by lunch monitors. Only the student(s) names indicated on the badge may sit with you.
4. The lunchroom visit must take place during the child’s regularly scheduled lunch time. Ask your teacher for times.
5. Lunchroom visitors may not visit other areas of the campus. If getting a lunch you r will go to the cafeteria with your child and report back to the front office area seating.
6. No more than once per week should be scheduled.

If your child needs to take any medications throughout the school year, please email the school nurse for the appropriate paperwork. Do not send medications in with your child. Medications must be dropped off by a parent and appropriate paperwork must be filled out, see attached.
If your child has severe allergies to anything that would require medical attention, please email our school nurse so that she can get a plan in place for the first day of school. Anything not life threatening can be placed on the back of the emergency card.
If your child has any other medical needs that we need to know about prior to the first day of school, please contact our school nurse via email.
Please do not send sick children to school. Children need to be fever, vomiting, and/or diarrhea free, without the use of fever reducing medication, for 24 hours before returning to school.
