May It Be of Benefit

Hello Families,

We return to school on Tuesday following a phenomenal Spring Break (with the best weather for a spring break in my memory) and a Staff Development Day on Monday, 4/12. I hope that whether you rested with a "Staycation" or went on an adventure you have returned with your cup full and your intentions set on a great end of the school year. We have just 8 precious weeks left to learn and grow together this school year.

Data from our iReady program (the assessments we use to mark and measure growth in language arts and math) shows that we are consistently behind last year's achievement levels across every grade level. However, the good news is that it also shows that student growth from Trimester 1 to Trimester 2 has been remarkable for most grade levels. It makes sense that our youngest students would show the most learning loss because they missed out on the most important foundational skills during their time out of school during the pandemic. This means that every school day is essential especially for our littles. Unless children are ill, it is important that they be present at school. Teachers are primed to make every day count in the remaining 8 weeks. And, if your child was invited to participate in the Power Scholars program this summer, please be sure to turn in their application or complete it online before Friday, April 16th or we will be offering their spot to another child. Spots are limited and if your child is unable to attend or you've chosen to decline, we want to offer it to another student who would benefit.

Let's finish strong!

With gratitude,

Mrs. Gold

Breakfast is served from 7:15 to 7:40

If your child is planning to eat breakfast at school, they MUST arrive in time to eat before class starts- that is 7:40 for 4th and 5th grades and 7:50 for K-3.

In order to help students get to class on time, we close the cafe doors at 7:40.

Breakfast primes students' brains for learning, so please take advantage of our free breakfast program.
