ENGAGE YOUR STUDENTS (IN THE CAVE)
Literacy Strategy: Keys to Literacy
Two Column Notes:
Mr. Jester introduced Two Column Notes by having students think about the items found in their refrigerator. This was an easy example that allowed for teaching the process of taking Two Column Notes. Now on to Fossils and using the Two Column Notes Technique.

PLEASE! feel free to ask the CAVE to assist, teach, etc in the research process.
Instructional Hook: Filling the Silence
Filling the Silence is a teaching strategy that requires students to draw conclusions about a video's message. Students watch a video without sound and are challenged to create a script or storyboard to accompany all or part of it.
Mr. Wright's students gave this strategy a try this week. After watching a one minute video, they worked with a partner to create a storyboard for the 13 transitions in the short soundless video.

CAVE Readings:

Resources & Citations
Mr. Wright's students explored the difference in good resources and a Google Search. We discussed proper citations from all types of resources and what would be easier. Our motto, "Work Smarter, Not Harder". Students wrapped up the station on a little scavenger hunt using their own topic to find good resources and proper citations using Destiny.
