MS Lunch Reminders
Middle School students will not be going outside at lunch until the weather turns nice again (March/April). However, we will go back to a gym-rotation system so that the students can get their energy out during lunchtime. Students who remain in the cafeteria are encouraged to bring board games and/or cards to play with during lunch. If you are looking to clean out your closets, please feel free to donate these items as well! I'm sure the students would appreciate having them.

Melissa Whetstone - MS Student of the Month
What teachers are saying about Melissa...
Melissa is an 8th grader at Byron. Melissa showed kindness by putting her classmates' needs before her own. She helped another student with their assignment. She was able to explain the skill to the student so they understood better :) The student was able to complete the assignment on time!!! She also showed patience. Thanks for being a great example Melissa!

Football Seniors - HS Students of the Month
What the staff is saying about our Senior Football boys...
When faced with a challenging season The Byron Varsity Football team has kept a positive attitude and persevered. It shows strong Teamwork and Leadership in staying positive when faced with adversity. We are impressed by the willingness to return to the field after injuries and setbacks kept them down.
Several times, this group was complemented by officials who applauded their work ethic and positive leadership on the field. It speaks directly to their character and the direction that the seniors chose to lead the team. Thanks for being great examples for our younger Eagles!

News from the High School FFA
7 High School students traveled to Indianapolis for our FFA National Convention on October 25-29th. Students who attended were: Olivia Chapman, Juliana Goodrich, Charlotte Killinger, Cole Laier, Bryce Ritter, Trevor Ritter and Lana Treidel. They went on tours, attended sessions and visited the career expo. They traveled to convention with members from Corunna, Durand, and Perry. Bryce Ritter competed in the Dairy Showmanship contest where he received a silver award. Way to go Bryce!
The FFA just finished selling for our annual Jam and Nut Sale. We will be distributing products next week. Thank you to all who made purchases to support our program!
This month, we had our Broiler Contest on November 4th, where we brought about 30 students and 15 pens of chickens to the contest to be judged. November 4th was a busy day as we also hosted our Donkey Basketball game in Perry. We had 7 members play against Perry, Corunna, and Durand.
On November 8th, we had a regional recreation in Perry with several other chapters from our region. We brought 24 students who played volleyball, cornhole, and games.
Don't forget that in addition to distributing our Jam and Nuts and our order forms next week, your orders for FFA Apparel items are due. On November 30th, we have our Chapter Degree ceremony, which recognizes our Sophomores in FFA. It will be held at Corunna HS at 7 pm. We are also going to Zap Zone on December 6th for a chapter recreation event.
