Join us THIS Thursday for the Educational Extravaganza!
Science Fair and TPSP projects will be on display from 5:30pm - 6:15pm and then our amazing Orchestra will serenade us with holiday tunes beginning at 6:30pm! See you there!
Golden Ticket Party!
Need some extra time to get shopping finished? Just need a couple of hours to finish up work projects? The WGA PTA is here to help! For $15 per student or $25 for 2 or more students, we will entertain your child until 5:30pm on Tuesday, December 18! The Golden Ticket Party consists of watching The Polar Express, enjoying cookies and milk, and a special treat for each child.
Permission slips were sent home last week. If you have any questions or need another form, please contact the office.
Early Dismissal - December 21
December 21 is our last day of school before Winter Break! We are so excited! The students will need to bring a sack lunch due to early dismissal. Early dismissal is at 1:20pm. PLEASE be on time to pick up your student!
Dismissal Issues
As the year continues, we are having more and more issues with dismissal/pick up promptness. The school day ends at 3:20pm. The office staff leaves at 3:30pm. On many afternoons, teachers have after school meetings, tutoring, and professional development events. On days when there are not meetings, our staff is trying to get home to their own families and personal commitments. When parents are not here to pick up their child on time, those events are compromised for our staff. After 4:00pm, the school has the right to call the authorities and let them know we still have a student not picked up. Please help us and be here on time to pick up your student.
UIL
UIL forms went home this week with your student. UIL competitions are for students in 2nd-5th grade. If you would like your child to have the opportunity to participate in a UIL event, please return the information/permission slip. The UIL competition will take place on Saturday, February 23rd at Garland High School.
