A Message from Mrs. Whitten

Hello Greenway Families- This Monday marks a year that I have been the principal of Greenway Elementary. I feel grateful every day that I am a part of this very special community. Below are some reminders about the parking lot, exclusion day, and some great events happening at our library! Have a great weekend!

Parking Lot Reminders

  • No students will be allowed to be picked up in the parking lot by a waiting parent.
  • Do not leave your car unattended.
  • If you have more than one child, have them meet in the gym and you can pick them up at the front door. There are teachers posted out front to help with this process.
  • Please do not park on the fire lanes (red curbs). It is important that we leave lanes open for buses and emergency vehicles.
  • All children who are walking home need to follow the sidewalk and cross with the crossing guards. They are not allowed to cut through the parking lot.
  • If you are changing your pickup plan, please advise the teacher and office.
  • Parents dropping off student in the morning by car at the front curb, must remain in their car. Children should exit the car curbside. If your child needs assistance exiting the car, please park in the parking lot.
  • If you have any questions, please call our office.

Lost and Found - We need your help!!

Please make sure your child has their name in coats and sweatshirts. Next week, we will be asking students to show us their name in coats and jackets. If they don't have it, we will add it. We had over 5 bags filled of unclaimed coats and jackets!

February 19th

Exclusion Day is on February 19th. Gaby will be contacting any families who do not have updated vaccine records!

Common Middle School Experience: Family Listening & Learning Sessions

Please join us to learn more about the Beaverton School District’s efforts to create a common experience at all of our comprehensive middle schools. This effort includes middle school course offerings and schedules that are standardized across the District.

The Family Listening & Learning Sessions will be held at every middle school on Thursday, February 6, 2020 from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Register to attend the Community-Wide Conversation Around Race

In our ongoing efforts to ensure equitable access, inclusion, and opportunity for our students, families, and staff, the Beaverton School District is engaging in the first of, hopefully, many community conversations around race. As a valued member of our community we would like to cordially invite you to attend and participate!

On Wednesday, January 29, 2020 from 3:15 to 6:00 p.m., we will be welcoming students, families, staff, and community members from throughout Beaverton and the surrounding region to join us at Southridge High School. The afternoon will include the elevation of student and adult voices from our schools and community partners in two breakout sessions focused on specific topics within the conversation around race. In between those two sessions, we will be listening to students engaging in conversation about the importance of developing and empowering our racial literacy. Please consider joining us for the event, and please share the opportunity with others!

You can learn more about the schedule, the various breakout sessions being offered, and register to attend the event by going to our website.

Southridge High School is located at: 9625 SW 125th Avenue Beaverton, OR 97008
