Located in southern Europe, Greece forms an irregular-shaped peninsula in the Mediterranean with two additional large peninsulas projecting.which is Chalcidice and the Peloponnese. Greek islands are generally subdivided into two groups, according to location: the Ionian islands west of the mainland and the Aegean islands to the east and south. North-central Greece, Epirus, and western Macedonia are all mountainous. The main chain of the Pindus Mountains extends from northwest Greece to the Peloponnese. Mount Olympus, rising to 9,570 ft (2,909 m), is the highest point in the country.

Culture

The culture of greece has evolved over thousands of years,greeks are proud of their cultural heritage and their contribution to world civilization.They have plays that continue to be staged in the theatres where they were originally performed.Also 98% of the 10.6m population of Greece speak Greek, which is the country's official language. The largest minority language is , spoken by 1.8% of the population. Others include Albanian, spoken in the centre and the south, Turkin, spoken by Muslim communities around the Aegean, and Arumanian and Bulgarian. None of these minority languages has official status.

Greek food is known to be one of the healthiest foods in the world. Mostly, Greek diets include cheese, especially goat cheese, spices such as oregano and garlic, pork and lots of fruits that keep them fit and healthy.

Geographys

Japan has of several thousands of islands, Hokkaido, Kyushu and Shikoku are the four largest. Japan's closest neighbors are Korea, Russia and China. Also Sea of Japan separates the Asian continent from the Japanese archipelago.The country is southeast of the Russian Far East, separated by the Sea of orkhotsk; slightly east of Korea, separated by the Sea of japan; and east-northeast of China and Taiwan, separated by the East china sea. The closest neighboring country to Japan is the Russian Federation.

Culture

Japanese culture is rich and diverse, dating back to 10,000BC when the Jomon people first settled in Japan. Religion does not play a big role in the lives of most Japanese and many do not understand the difference between Shintoism and Buddhism. However, there are also many Japanese who do understand the difference.Also sumo is Japan's national sport, although baseball is also very popular.And there are four different writing systems in Japan; Romaji, Katakana, Hiragana, and Kanji.
