The Walk to Forgiveness
“Loving means never having to say I’m sorry. “At some time we all have heard this saying, and I must say I disagree. No matter what type of relationship you are in at some point you’ve had to humble yourself and ask for forgiveness. Recently I was listening to Joyce Meyers, and she was talking about admitting when you are wrong and how it will make you better person all around. She mentioned some phrases that are simple yet powerful that we can use every day; for example” Please, Thank You, I’m Sorry, I was wrong, Forgive Me.” These simple phrases remind us that kindness goes a long way and that we all make mistakes, but acknowledging it is the key.
Walking in forgiveness is a representation of Christ. Proverbs 16:18 says “Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.” I could not phantom the idea of Christ allowing pride to go before His love for us. Even He asked for forgiveness for those that persecuted Him because He loved them that much. “Jesus said, Father forgive them for they do not know what they are doing. “ Luke 28:24 Mirroring Christ’s actions does not make one weak, however it makes you stronger in Him and become more like Him. The word Christian in the Greek is derived from the word Christos which means follower of Christ. So in our lives must represent Him.
In Galatians 5:22&23 we are reminded that we have the fruits of the spirit. This is our guide of how we can implement the characteristics of Christ in our life. Minister Carter recently taught on Kindness, and she said “all of the fruits of the spirit have to work together; your fruit can develop through your character.” Also Minister Johnson recently gave us the characteristics of Jesus. One of those characteristics was forgiveness. She let us know that Christ was forgiving and we must also be forgiving in everything we do in word or deed.
So as we approach our journey in this New Year of 2016 I encourage and challenge you to walk in the freedom of forgiveness. If you have anything that you may need to get right from last year, it’s not too late! The definition of the word sorry is to feel regret or sympathy. The definition of the word forgive is to cease to feel resentment against an offender. So keeping that in mind, loving does mean having to say I’m sorry and being forgiving. Remember we have been forgiven to FORGIVE.

In Case You Missed It...
Yesterday's message, given by Apostle Daniels, was a continuation of How to get perfect peace in the time of turmoil, when things aren't going well, and when your mind is in chaos. The scripture texts that he used were Galatians 1:3; Mark 4:35-39; 1 Peter 5:7
In this message on Peace, we learned that Jesus has authority over the storm and your situation. So everything you are dealing with or going through He already knows about it.
Peace be still in the Greek, means to muzzle the storm. So the storm is still there, but it's not attacking you! You can tell the enemy to "Shut Your Mouth!" When your storm is calm, you are calm too, so RELAX God is in control and know that he got's you! We can trust God from saving us from going to Hell and giving us eternal life, so we should be able to trust him to take care of you.
In 1 Peter 5:7 it talks about casting your cares on Him, so you should give Him all of your cares and concerns because they are too heavy for you.
