Student Chromebooks
In order to support the learning of every child in MPS we are offering you a Chromebook for your child to use at home. This Chromebook should remain at home until the teacher asks your child to return it back to school.
Should your child leave the school or the district you are responsible for returning the Chromebook and power cord back to the school you received it from. If you are moving to another MPS school, the new school will provide you with a Chromebook.
The Chromebook should be used for educational purposes only. Please help by monitoring your child’s use of the Chromebook for educational purposes only.
Fall Testing Schedule
Each year, students take a universal screening assessment three times a year. This assessment, STAR, will be given to our students in grades 2-8 for reading and math. STAR early literacy is given to grade 1. The testing window opens Monday, September 13 and will end Friday, October 8, 2021. Students in grades K4-K5 will be assessed on reading readiness. It is important that students are well-rested and eat a good breakfast on their day of testing. The assessment helps inform instruction to best meet the needs of all of our students. For more information regarding assessment and your child, please refer to the parent assessment guides.

Guidelines for Health and Safety
We understand that over the past two academic school years, our students, families and staff have had to learn to be flexible in a manner not required before. To ensure the health and safety of all, MPS will continue to follow current CDC guidance and make changes as updated.
Masks required by staff and students indoors except while eating or drinking
Masks not required outdoors
Masks required on buses
Plexi barriers on student desks
A distance of 3 feet will be maintained in all school settings to the greatest extent possible
School Visitors- visitors with a scheduled visit are welcomed (masks required)
Please use this Guideline Regarding a Sick Child form to help you determine if your child is well enough to attend school.
Help Reduce the Spread of COVID-19
MPS is now offering COVID-19 School Based Testing for students and staff with COVID symptoms. Testing will help reduce community spread of COVID-19 and ensure that our schools are safe for learning and working. Please consider completing this consent for testing. Students and staff who complete this form and display symptoms of COVID, may be able to be tested at Curtin.
2021-22 Military Connections Survey
The State of Wisconsin-Department of Instruction has required school districts to annually collect information from Military Connected Families. If a parent or guardian is connected to the U.S. Military, we are asking that you complete this survey. It will need to be printed and returned. If you need a copy printed.
STUDENT ABSENCES
Parent(s)/guardian(s) are expected to notify the school by phone/letter of a student’s absence. Personal illness is a legally excused absence. Please be aware that vacations, going out of town, etc. are only excused if it is in a written notification prior to the absences.
