EDUCATOR OF THE WEEK
This week's Educator of the Week is GWS 1st Grade Teacher, Ms. Tracy Roche. Ms. Roche has been working with the students of Marshfield since 2002, when she joined the district as a tutor. She has been a classroom teacher since 2006 and her impact on our students has been immeasurable.
Over the last 20 years, Ms. Roche has worked tirelessly on behalf of her students and has consistently supported the mantra of "Every student. Every day. Whatever it takes." Beyond her amazing work with students, she is also a first grade mentor teacher and has shared her teaching skill sets with our newer staff. We are fortunate to have Ms. Roche on our team and we thank her for her service to the Marshfield learning community. #bettertogether.

From Chaos to Calm: Supporting your student with Executive Functioning Challenges
Executive function is an umbrella term used to describe a set of cognitive processes that are necessary for emotional and behavioral control. In this workshop participants will learn what executive functioning skills are and will provide insight into the role they play in student learning and the impact difficulties in EF skills have on school success. Oftentimes, students who appear “unmotivated” about schoolwork simply do not have the EF skills required to initiate, plan, organize and persist on school/homework tasks until completion. Parents and caregivers won't want to miss this interactive presentation that will help them gain a clearer picture of how to help their children become more successful and independent learners.
For planning purposes, please click here to RSVP if you plan to attend.
