WCEF News & Updates 11/13/19

We Gott’s a lot to be thankful for November 20

November 20 10am-9pm! - that’s lunch and dinner!

Gott’s Day of Giving is back. Gott’s is celebrating 20 years in business by donating 20% of proceeds on November 20 to our Walnut Creek public schools when you mention WCEF. One of the largest local business donors to WCEF, we love our partnership with Gott’s.

Our Wish for you on November 21

Kick off the holiday shopping season with a lot of flair and sparkle at Wish in Walnut Creek on November 21 from 4-7:00 pm. Need to pick up a Thanksgiving hostess gift? Or a gift for your child’s teacher? Start your holiday shopping at Wish, mention WCEF, and 10% goes back to our schools! Unable to make it on November 21, giveback carries through all weekend. Support a locally owned business that supports public education.

Wish Location: 2333 Boulevard Circle, Walnut Creek (now open Sundays 11-4 through the holidays!)

Trot, trot as fast (or slow) as you can….

That’s right folks, the Forma Turkey Trot countdown is on! A family-friendly event with 10K/5K/Kids runs, it’s guaranteed to perk you up before the tryptophan kicks in. Use code “WCEF19” and $10 of the registration goes back to WCEF. Now there’s a partnership we can all be thankful for. Register today! We also need volunteers for the week leading up to the race and day of. Volunteer info here.

Got a little time to help WCEF?

Your friends at WCEF are in need of a graphic designer to lend us their skills and talents. If you are savy in Canva or Illustrator we need help. Bonus: no need to come to a meeting! This position allows you to tinker from the comfort of your own sofa.

100 Reasons to Donate

Reason #44 Science Matters

Reason #44 why students need dedicated science specialists and weekly lab time? We believe in research and our CA students are behind. In the 2015 study, “The Nation’s Report Card,” the average score of 4th graders in CA was 140. This was lower than the national average score (153). More funding means dedicated science specialists and class time.

Big picture

State Farm wants to give back to local communities and is offering to donate $20 directly to Parkmead PERC for getting an Auto, Home, Life, Business, or Disability from State Farm Agent Jared Burns-Coffin. No strings attached. Simply call or email and let Jared know you are calling for the Parkmead Fundraiser.

Let’s set a goal to raise $2,000 per month!! If 100 families participate by calling to get one quote a month the school would receive $2,000 per month. Take 10 minutes to get a personal quote, refer a family member or friend and let’s see how much we can raise for the rest of 2019! Only one quote per household applies.

Call or email the Jared Burns-Coffin State Farm Agency at 925-682-0800 or
