Talent Show Scheduling Considerations
The Compass Talent Show is coming up! There are a few things that we need from teachers in terms of applying and practice.
- Applications for the talent show are due on May 12th. The kids will need help from an adult at home to fill out the application. If there is any child in your class who might need help filling out the app but doesn't have someone to help them form home, let Michelle know and we will send a second grader to aid the child in filling out the form.
- This week, find a space in your classroom to collect talent show applications and remind the kids about filling out the application. A Compass parent will be around to collect the forms on Thursday.
- On May 17th and 19th, parents from the Talent Show committee will review acts. Instead of going through the acts at random, the talent show parents will group the acts by class so that only 30 min.-1 hour of the day will be a little wacky for each class. There will be parent volunteers who pick up the kids from the classroom, bring them to the performance space, and return them to class.
- After returning to school on May 31st, there will be parent volunteers available during class exploration times to help some of the acts practice. If practicing could be an available choice in your classroom, that would be great.
- On June 2nd and 3rd, a parent volunteer would like to come into each class and do a 15-20 minute session on performer and audience member practices for all of the kids. We will schedule these blocks later.
- On the afternoon of June 9th, there will be a talent show run-through. People participating in the show will be picked up from class and taken to the auditorium for the practice.
Next Staff Happy Hour: Thursday, May 19th!
We will be meeting at Habana Outpost from 5 PM - 7 PM. Please join us for fun and frivolity! Significant others/kids welcome!
