A Message from the Principal

Dear Morse Street Families,

We want to thank you all for meeting with us this week at parent Teacher Conferences, this is such an important time for us to connect with families. It is always beneficial for us to be able to share information about your child at school, and also to learn more about your child and the insights you have about them outside of the school setting. We would like to extend a big thank you to our PTC and other volunteers for providing us with yummy treats all week. It was very much appreciated by all.

We have had another exciting couple of weeks at Morse Street. Last week was the Camp Sunshine Pumpkin Festival at LL Bean, and each class carved pumpkins to be displayed throughout the grounds of LL Bean during the weekend. This is always such a fun community event that we have the opportunity to participate in. I'm sure your children were eager to share all the different designs they had seen on their walk to deliver their creations. Perhaps some of you were able to attend over the weekend and participate in the activities.

Our first graders went to Bradbury Mountain last week. First graders get to hike to the top of Bradbury, sing songs, carve pumpkins, rake leaves as a community service project and listen to a story. Each grade level has an outside experience where each of our special (Music, PE. Art, Library, STEM) teachers participate in an outdoor activity day.

Below you will find videos from our special teachers where they explain what you can expect from each of their content areas. If you are interested in finding out more after watching the videos, please reach out to those teachers. I’m sure they will be happy to answer any questions you might have.

Warmly,

Julie Nickerson, Principal

My name is Pam Gee, a.k.a. “Miss Gee” at Morse Street School. I work in the building as a Special Education Technician and have been in the lunchroom as well as on the playground for recess. It’s a pleasure to be able to get to know many of the students during this time.

I am an Instructor in the RSU 5 Community Programs. I have been working in afterschool programs for 25 years. I wanted to extend an invitation for you to take a look at my upcoming programs for this school year. Please use the link below to sign up. Thank you!
