From Your Stated Clerk
"All God's creatures got a place in the choir!" That's a song we first heard from Celtic Thunder. The words come to mind every time we hear all the local frogs, toads, cicadas, crickets and a whole lot of other critters during the summer after dark. It always brought a smile to my face when I'd be on my way to work during those warm summer nights, so why do all these critters make all that noise? Because God gave them each a voice and they make the most of it after dark it seems.
So should we all be making use of whatever gifts God has given us.
To that point, on Wednesday, August 31, I'm inviting anyone who likes to sing or wants to sing to come to church for a 7:30pm practice for Sunday, September 4. We're going to sing a couple of praise choruses with whoever can join us. There is only one service on September 4 so join us if you can.
Blessings,
Ron K
Farewell Reception for Martha this Sunday!
Join us this Sunday, August 14 after the 10:00 am service in Heritage Hall for a Thank you & Farewell Reception for Martha.
As you may be aware, Martha’s last day at OLCC,P is Sunday, August 14. Martha has accepted a full-time position at Central United Methodist in Waterford where she will be able to continue serving the Lord while pursuing her long-term goal of becoming ordained in the United Methodist Church.
We are so thankful to Martha for over 4 years of dedicated service to our church family. We are thankful for her commitment to our church, parents, volunteers, and of course, our youth and children. We have been blessed with someone who has not only been a faithful servant , but who has poured so much love into our children and youth, showing them the love of Christ.
Make sure to find time to thank Martha for her time well-served here at OLCC,P.
Heritage Hall Restoration Committee Survey
Earlier this year OLCC,P Session in response to the need to assess the major repairs outlined for Heritage Hall approved the formation of a special taskforce to determine the full extent of possible repairs and restorations of the Hall.
Five members of the Church were selected and commissioned: Chair Brenda Starynchak, Dennis Berry, Gordon Steele, Ron Verduin, and Gary Forhan.
This taskforce has been at work gathering information, getting estimates, and receiving assessments. They have listed and reviewed all the possible actions, repairs, restorations and ideas for making the Heritage Hall facility a grand hall for all possible future usages. Now the taskforce and the Session have a few very important questions for the Congregation.
Your feedback is important in the task of determining the full extent of the restoration.
The survey can be taken here by clicking the link below. Paper survey copies are available in the Sanctuary area or on the link below. The survey is also on our website at:
https://www.olccp.com/general-8
Please take the time to provide your feedback and tell us what you want.
We want your feedback on the OLCC,P Staff!
We at OLCC,P are truly blessed with a talented and dedicated staff! As we plan for the year ahead, we would like your comments on a few of the things you love about the staff and your suggestions on how the staff can serve our members and our community even better in the coming year.
Remember: Feedback is truly a gift – especially if it comes from a perspective of love and genuine caring. It provides the recipient an opportunity to reflect on strengths they may take for granted or opportunities for improvement they didn't realize were there. Please take some time to prayerfully reflect on your interactions with members of the OLCC,P staff and jot down your honest, specific feedback.
Email your comments to Personnel Ministry Team Chair Barbara Christoff at daddyspedro@yahoo.com no later than Sunday, August 21, 2022.
Note: Names of those providing feedback will not be shared with the staff.
