December 2022 Newsletter
Message From Principal Lisa Langford
Collier Community:
With the holiday season upon us, many of our evenings and weekends will be spent getting ready for this festive time with celebrations. While some may see visions of sugarplums, the Collier students continue to have equations, essays, science, social studies, and literature dancing in their heads. Please remember to include study time and homework time in your holiday plans – at least until December 22nd. We wish to thank you for your generosity and for remembering that this is the season of giving. We appreciate our families sharing their good fortune with other people in our community. Don’t forget that you can still make your tax credit donation, this is so important! It pays for Art, Music, Spanish, PE and several other programs. It’s so easy to do on the TUSD website! Your contribution will be returned to you when you do your taxes and receive a refund from the state! Please make sure that your child is on time and doesn’t miss school if possible. We thank you for your continued support of our students and wish you a safe, peaceful and happy holiday!

Tuesday, December 20

On Friday, November 18, we participated in the MOCA Satellite program. A teaching artist from the museum came to the school to present the Plein Air landscape exhibit from the museum. Students learned about landscape art and created collages with landscape themes. Because of our participation in this program, students are entitled one free museum trip for them and their families on a day of their choosing.
The museum is located at 265 S. Church St. You do not need any paperwork to qualify for free admission. Let the docent at the desk know you are from Collier Elementary and that Devan came to the school on November 18, 2022.
