Green Sturgeon Forage Study
Year Long Data Collection on the Petaluma River
Getting Dirty
I had to spend a year inside, working behind a computer, doing data processing before I could start working on my own project. The data was from sensors at bridges up and down the Sacramento River. Many Sturgeon have been captured and inserted with tracking devises that send numbers to the sensors. I would simplify pages and pages of numbers down into a concise summary of where the fish was, which eventually was made into a visual map. After I finished this project, I was able to do my own research and get my hands dirty.
Sampling
- pH, Salinity, and Temp at each location
- Mud samples are filtered and clams are sized and counted
- We sampled at the same locations each time
