Brick Tamland

2nd District Congressional Representative from Alabama

About Brick

Affirmative Action

Brick believes that individuals should be admitted to schools and hired for jobs based on their ability because it is unfair to use race as a factor in the selection process. He also believes that reverse-discrimination is not a solution for racism and that preferential treatment of certain races through affirmative action is wrong. Brick will fight to combat affirmative action and provide true equality for all races by abandoning the patronage system.

Economic Policy

Brick believes that the free market system, competitive capitalism, and private enterprise create the greatest opportunity and the highest standard of living for all. Free markets produce more economic growth, more jobs and higher standards of living than those systems burdened by excessive government regulation. Brick will fight for this economic policy and push the economy toward this free market system.

National Defense

Brick believes that terrorism poses one of the greatest threats to the U.S. The world toward which the militant Islamists strive cannot peacefully co-exist with the Western world. Brick believes that profiling and intelligence data should be used to single out suspicious individuals for extra screening in order to combat terrorism. Terrorists must be stopped and destroyed; the use of intelligence-gathering and military force are the best ways to defeat terrorism around the world. Brick will also work to ensure that captured terrorists are treated as enemy combatants and tried in military courts.
