JSE Weekly Newsletter
November 15 - November 19
American Education Week
The week of November 15 - November 19 is American Education Week. In honor of this, Maryville City Schools will be providing free ice cream treats to all students and staff on Wednesday, November 17th during lunch times. Alternate items will be available for anyone with dietary restrictions or allergies. Enjoy!
Angel Tree Tags
This year we are doing our Angel Tree a little differently. We have tags in our front office with items listed for children in our area. If you would like to help out, come pick up a tag in the JSE front office. Please return unwrapped items, along with the tag, by Monday, November 29th. Items will be distributed by Faith Promise Church. Thank you for your help!
Coloring Books and Crayons Needed
We currently have a box near the entrance for students to donate coloring books and crayons. The items are being collected by Blount County Junior Service League and will be used in the Christmas gifts distributed by Toys for Blount County. Thank you for helping our community!
Giving Tuesday
November 30th is Giving Tuesday! This is an event where we collect cleaning supplies or gift cards to help Maryville City Schools' families who are in need of assistance. As you run your errands this week, keep this in mind and stock up on items if you wish to donate. We will begin collecting the items on Tuesday, November 22nd. See flyer below for more details!
Upcoming Author Visit
We look forward to hosting author Carmen Deedy in December at JSE. She is the author of such books as Rita and Ralph's Rotten Day, The Library Dragon, and many more! You can view her books at https://carmenagradeedy.com/book/ .
Cookie Dough
We will communicate the cookie dough arrival date as soon as possible. We will need parent volunteers to help when it arrives. We will send details about times to volunteer in a later newsletter. Thanks again JSE families!

Adventure Club will be closed November 24 - 26.
