Battle of the Book Shirts!

This is what the front of the BOB shirts will look like this year. The back will list the coaches and students' names. Details on ordering your shirt will be on an email sent out later this week. Fabulous design!

Did you know...

there is a "staff sign out log" in the front office?

Sometimes it is inevitable that you have to leave early or sometimes you just need to run a quick errand during lunch or your conference time. We ask that you please sign out when you need to leave campus as well as notify Mrs. Hager, Mrs. Smith, and Mr. Wood, especially when it involves splitting your classes among your teammates. Why would we ask you to do this? In case of an emergency, we would know where you were.

New Morning Procedures - Starting TOMORROW!

One designated teacher per grade level will report to pick up areas at 7:55. Kinder will continue to pick up as they do now, but will still send a Kinder rep for any remainder students in the cafeteria.

  • Designated pick up areas: K-2 cafeteria, 3-5 gym.
  • Students will be walked back to class at staggered times starting at 7:55.

· 7:55 4th grade – use left side of hallway since you will be using the first set of stairs

· 7:57 3rd grade (right after 4th grade) - use left side of hallway and first set of stairs

· 7:59 5th grade (right after 3rd grade) – use right side of hallway and use stairs by staff parking lot

· 2nd 8:01 (right after 5th grade) – use right side of hallway

· 1st grade 8:01 (right after 2nd) – use right side of hallway

· Kinder 8:03 (right after 1st grade) – use right side of hallway

Afternoon Procedures

Y'all have really been on top of dismissal and I really appreciate it. Continue to make your students sit in their assigned area and have them looking for their cars, so we can get those darlings in the cars quickly.

Someone has asked if our bilingual students are to take both ISIP and the STAR Early Literacy assessment. I do not know the answer YET, but I will find out and let you know.

As always, you can allow your students to take their MOY screener during their computer time with Mrs. Dotson OR you can sign up to take your class at another time. Please see Mrs. Dotson or Ms. Venegas for open computer times.

Welcome back, everyone! Although this break was fabulous, I have missed your smiling faces and am ready to hit the ground running!

May the force be with us...!

It went fast, but I hope most of us have regenerated our energy. I'm sure we have many new stories to share... (and some stories we promised never to share...!) since last we saw each other. In the midst of the daily challenges we face, let's enjoy the journey with our kids and colleagues.

And... along those lines... how about a mystery person of the week...?
Some things about this staff member...
Born in El Paso
Attended 3 universities, including UTEP, SMU and UTA
An exciting event: "performing in Red Square..." (I assume that is Moscow)
Bucket list vacation trip: Israel
Embarrassing moment... I don't think I will say... you ask the staff member...!!!
A favorite food: "Cookies!"
Something you like about your team: "They are such bright people!"
Loves to watch baseball
Something that might surprise your colleagues: "I used to be a wild child!"

Email me your guess by noon Monday. Winning guesses will be entered in a drawing for the jeans pass!

Have a great week!
