The Bledsoe Beat
Growing students socially, emotionally, and academically.
Showing Grace at Bledsoe Elementary
In this week's class meetings, our students focused on Self Expression. Students discussed how words are powerful. They dove deeper to understand that verbal and non-verbal expression can communicate how they feel about a certain statement, idea, or situation among peers. Students gained the appreciated of using self expression as a tool to help others understand what they are going through and how others can help when needed.
How to Practice Showing GRACE in and outside of school:
1. Let it Go - When someone does something you don't like/agree with
2. Forgiveness - Not a merit based system; two wrongs don't make a right
3. Kindness - Look for opportunities to show random acts of kindness
4. Respect - Practicing good manners and strong listening skills
5. Acceptance - embracing others' differences and staying open-minded
If You Only Had 10 Words To Say All Day, What Would They Be and Who Would You Say Them To?
A New TOOL in 3G Learning
At Bledsoe, we believe that children behave correctly in situations when they have the tools to do so. In class meetings, we are addressing many of the tools students need in order to regulate their behavior. Consequences for behavior result in stopping the behavior temporarily, but if no coaching on the right way to behave occurs, it will not make permanent changes. Self- reflection involves the recognition and regulation of behavior by taking time to think about it. When students develop awareness and understanding of how their behavior affects others, think of other ways to handle a situation and create a plan, they grow 3G Strong!
When you see a 3G Strong Reflection from Specials, please read it with your child. Talk to them about the behavior. Then, ask them how others might feel about that choice. Finally, talk to them about other things they can do next time. They’re learning behavior every day. Let’s teach them the tools they need to be 3G Strong!

District Wide Angel Tree Project
It is almost that time of year when the spirit of the holidays fill us with joy! We want to spread that feeling to families in Frisco who need help insuring the holidays are memorable and filled with wonder for their children. Bledsoe and other Frisco ISD schools will be participating in the Angel Tree project. Our students will be participating in a service project to sponsor an “Angel” during this holiday season. “Angels” are less fortunate children in this community. These families and children will have a joyful and memorable holiday season with your help and generosity. Your child's teacher has emailed about this project and room parents have begun coordinating the collection of gifts for each class' angel gifts. As always, donations of gifts are completely optional.
