After these dates, all devices will be kept at school. In order to ensure fines are not accrued, please be sure charging cords & bricks are also returned with devices.
June 7: K-2 students (including SSLI) will return devices, cords & bricks.
June 9-11: 3-6 students will return devices, cords & bricks. A schedule for return will be shared by the classroom teacher.
If you have questions or concerns about the condition or status of your iPad, brick, and cord, please reach out to Mrs. Kijek our Media Specialist as soon as possible - Janet.kijek@fraserk12.org.
Note: Students participating in summer programs will receive their device back during summer school.
The district will be releasing the virtual device collection schedule separately.
UPDATED 5/21/21 - MDHHS School Quarantine Guidelines
In updated guidance for schools, MDHHS is now advising that if a COVID exposure occurs only in the classroom, while both the infected individual and close contact were masked and sitting at least three feet apart, the close contact does not need to be quarantined. We will still conduct contact tracing and notify you if your child was a close contact, but they will still be able to attend school. Close contacts will need to be monitored for symptoms and should practice social distancing, wear a face mask and avoid large gatherings.
Students who are exposed in other settings, including contact sports or if they were closer than three feet, would still need to quarantine for 10 days.
Please note that if your child is in this situation, they are still a close contact with an exposure to Covid-19. The family should consider this before having the child visit family members and friends who may be at risk of severe outcomes for Covid-19 infection and limit the child's social activities outside of school for at least 10 days if asymptomatic.
Students who test positive for Covid-19 must still isolated per MDHHS and CDC Guidelines and my not attend school during their infectious period.
See the full MDHHS Guidance document HERE.
Mask Update
With the recent updated guidance regarding the wearing of masks, students will NO LONGER be required to wear a mask outside.
We realize this is a very personal decision for each family. Should you wish for your child to continue to wear a mask during recess, please feel free to let them know and/or communicate it with their classroom teacher.
We will continue to update our Seahawk community as new information is shared.
