Term One Reflections
Greetings Eagle Families,
November provides us with various reminders regarding the importance of reflection. From the end of a marking period, to Veterans Day, to Thanksgiving; November is filled with opportunities for us to pause and reflect. During these moments, it’s imperative that we celebrate our accomplishments as well as think about the things we could change to ensure that we are even more successful in the future.
Upon reflecting on the first 10 weeks of the 2020-2021 school year, I am incredibly proud and thankful for the dedication that our students, staff, and community members have exhibited. While the journey over the past several weeks has not always been smooth, we have learned so many valuable lessons about our new virtual learning environment. One thing that has stood out to me is the resilience of our students. Their adaptability and commitment to excellence has been demonstrated countless times throughout the first term. I hope the grit and perseverance that they have shown continues as we progress through the rest of the school year.
I would be remiss if I did not take time to extend a huge thank you to our parents and guardians for all of your hard work and support throughout the first term. I know the transition to and continuation of virtual learning is not easy. The virtual learning environment requires a tremendous amount of support and time from you, for which I am incredibly grateful. I know that without your direct support our students would not have been as successful as they were.
As I have shared in previous communications, I value your feedback. This includes reflections, suggestions, and celebrations. Our continued collaboration will help ensure that the OMS staff is able to provide your child(ren) with the best education possible. I hope that you will consider taking time to complete the “Term One Reflections” form. The responses from this form will be reviewed by administration as well as members of the OMS School Improvement/Leadership Team.
Again, thank you so much for your continued support. Please let me know if you have any questions or need anything as we move into the second term.

Attendance - Students should make every possible attempt to attend each synchronous session of their daily schedule. However, there will be times during the year in which a student is unable to attend due to connectivity issues, appointments, illness, etc. If your child misses a session or sessions for any of these reasons, please email a note to our attendance secretary, Ms. Nancy Sanders at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please include your child's first and last name, grade, date of absence, and reason for absence. If Ms. Sanders has any questions, she will reach out for clarification.
