Message from the Principal
Good Afternoon Dragon Family:
A few days ago I read a shared post on Mayra Munoz's facebook account. Mayra teachers Spanish I and II at the high school. She also teaches a class of 8th graders Spanish 1. The post read:
"The best classroom management strategy is to like your students. It's not a feeling. It's a choice. Choose to see the best in them. No one wants to disappoint someone who genuinely cares about them."
Although Mayra is entering her first full year as a classroom teacher, she has years of experience working with kids and people. She models the values we encourage in our kids on a daily basis. She continues to build a vibrant Spanish Club that welcomes all students and promotes community service. She greets every student with a warm smile as they enter her room every hour. She works hard and plans meaningful daily lessons for her kids. She is eager to learn and grow as a professional. She treats everyone with kindness and respect and most importantly models these values for our kids.
Mayra has quickly learned, what all good teachers learn, that the best way to manage a classroom is to love your kids. It's really as simple as that. Our values are listed below: Dragons F.I.R.S.T.
Please take a moment and read them. This is our vision and mission at PHS. Always put kids F.I.R.S.T.
Jason
Proud to be a Dragon.
Go Dragons!

- Our Annual Safety Meeting occurs this Wednesday 8/25 @ 3:30 in the high school library. Any parent is welcome to attend.
