Monday's Schedule
Thanks for your flexibility!
Madi and Sam Brockhaus
According to his mother, Denise, Allen should arrive in Norfolk on Friday and plans on meeting with HHS and the kids' counselors next week. He may also bring the kids to school and may want to visit with their teachers to see how they have done this semester.
Denise told me that HHS is working with Allen to get all paperwork and other items in order before he takes the kids back Maryland.
Thank you, ShopKo
Tweet of the Week
After visiting Lori's classroom today, if we'd tell students we could adopt a school pet if we didn't have any tardies, our tardy problem would be COMPLETELY solved!
Search #12DaysTwitter
I haven't FULLY participated, but I've thrown my two cents in when I could. But the real power of Twitter is to view ideas from OTHERS! Today's (Thursday's) topic is to tweet your favorite thing that has happened this year. I have really enjoyed reading what others have submitted.
And you will too! Even if you don't tweet regularly (or ever!) Simply go to twitter.com and up at the top where it says "Search Twitter", type in #12DaysTwitter (with no spaces). You may have to click the link that says "Latest" (my default goes to "Top" and I'm not sure how to change that!)
Once you're there, you'll see the latest tweets about #12DaysTwitter and you'll see what educators all over the country have deemed their favorite thing about the year.
Following a "twitter steam" like this is even easier if you use TweetDeck. It's pretty easy to set up and I can help you through it if you'd like to get it on your laptop. For iPads or iPhones, I prefer to use a thing called Hootsuite.
Happy Tweeting (or simply reading!)
Quickies (Check the pic; remember when it was warm outside?)
- Still nothing posted on us92.com about Roman's wish. If you go there, click on the "Community" tab at the top and you'll see "2016 Christmas Wishes." I assume that's where it will be.
- Hopefully, you found the website for the January 23 PD day yesterday at our PLC. Here it is again: http://esu8winterworkshop.weebly.com/schedule.html
Please create an account and select which sessions you're thinking about attending. This is not a "set in stone" thing, but I think the organizers want to get an idea of how many people are coming to individual sessions so they can move into bigger/smaller rooms as needed.
- You will have time to complete your SMART goals and your "envelope goals" next Wednesday at our last building PLC of the year. If you have them done beforehand, feel free to return the envelopes to me and share your SMART goals with me via Google.
- NHS Choir will perform for us at 10:30am on Tuesday!
- PTO will stuff gift bags for our students on Wednesday at 6:30pm
- January 6 workday. Questions? I will lead a presentation about the changes in our safety procedures at 8:30 (it's my Christmas gift to you!)
- I will be given the information to present to you (hopefully) by the end of the year. I don't think any of the changes are earth-shaking, but we do want everyone "trained" on the new vocabulary and procedures before students come back on Jan. 9.
- If you cannot make it on the 6th, please contact me.
- Specials teachers--please let me know what building you'll be trained at so I can account for you!

By the way, I could TOTALLY pull off a Little Smokies necklace!
