Thank You Ms. Inge!

Ms. Inge has been a wonderful addition to the Hearst family and this week will be her last week at Hearst before she leaves the nest to pursue her dreams to become a school counselor. Please join me in thanking Ms. Inge and wishing her all the best in her new endeavors!

Hearst Elementary Day at AU Basketball – Sat, Dec 21st at 2pm

A reminder to all Hearst families that the Annual Hearst Elementary Day at AU Basketball will be heldSaturday, December 21st at 2pm in AU's Bender Arena. If you haven’t already turned in your form with payment, please do so by Tuesday, December 17th at the latest. Be sure to write your child's home room teacher's name on the slip. Tickets will go home with your child on Thursday, afternoon Dec. 19th. We're looking forward to this event and tradition for Hearst families. GO EAGLES!

Provide Feedback on DCPS Calendar

Draft calendar dates for SY 2020-21 through SY 2022-23 are now available on the DCPSwebsite in English and Spanish. Please encourage staff, families, and community members to review the calendar proposals and share feedback by Sunday, January 5.

Statewide Assessment Participation: Notification of Parents Right to Know (Due 1/31/20)

ESSA requires school districts to notify parents of their rights to request information about statewide assessment participation. The notification letter is below. If you have any questions, please reach out to the Assessments team at 202-442-8867 or dcps.testing@k12.dc.gov.

Announcement: New DME Edsight about public school lottery waitlists

The Office of the Deputy Mayor for Education (DME) released a new Edsight that describes how My School DC lottery applicants can enroll in a school based on lottery results and the rates at which they do so. Almost half of all students in SY2018-19 declined their initial matches and waitlist offers to enroll.

Register for the Fresh Start 5K on Jan. 1

On January 1, 2020, join Mayor Muriel Bowser and DC residents at the scenic Anacostia Park for the 2020 #FITDC Fresh Start 5K!

The Mayor is inviting people of all ages to join us for this fun fitness activity. Whether you want to run, walk or just cheer folks on, this will be a fun event for all! Same-day registration and packet pickup begin at 9:00 a.m. and the Fresh Start 5K Walk/Run begins at 10:00 am.
