They believed in setting good examples for others by following five main relationships. Ruler and subject, wife and husband, older and younger sibling, older friend and younger friend, and father and son.


Taoisms main belief was that through nature and harmony you can be happy. This is also where yin and yang come from.

What would a government founded on Confucian principles look like?

In my opinion, if a government was founded on only Confucian principals it would be much more peaceful and there wouldn't be as many wars going on.

How would a Chinese family be influenced by Confucian teachings?

Some ways a Chinese family might be influenced by Confucian teachings is that after learning they might try to strengthen the five main relationships that Confucians believe.

Are Taoist principles relevant to the issues of everyday life today?

Some principals are still in use today like the people who want to be in "harmony" or enlightened. Also there are naturist and Taoist were naturist.

How do the individual principles/maxims of each philosophy connect to each other to form an entire religion/way of thinking?

The main way these two beliefs come together to form a religion is because the main belief is peace and being one with something. For Taoist it is being one with nature and being happy and for confusion it is having the five main relationships.
