First Quarter

Can you believe first quarter is coming to a close? This year is going by so fast which makes me sad because I am LOVING this group of kids.

I still have had several questions about the extra credit packets that I sent home. You DO NOT have to complete all of them. I simply wanted to give you some more math resources to use if your kiddo is struggling in a certain area or if you want to give their grade a boost.

When you correct a "correct and return" assignment, you do not have to send all of their work back. Just return the specific page that they needed to work on. I staple everything together because I don't want anything to get lost in their backpacks.

Our First Writing Celebration

United Way

Next week we have a fundraiser for United Way. There is also a spirit day for those who participate. The students need to bring 25 cents each day to participate.

Monday: “Crazy Sock Day” – wear your craziest socks!

Tuesday: “Favorite Sports Team Day” – whether it is the BSSHS Jaguars, KC Chiefs, KC Royals, or the MU Tigers, wear your favorite team gear!

Wednesday: “Crazy Hat Day” – wear your “spunkiest” (craziest) hat!

Thursday: “Crazy Hair Day” – style your craziest hair!

Friday: “CME School Pride Day” – show your school pride for CME by wearing CME gear or our school colors (teal and purple)!

Multiplication Introduction

We have started to introduce the concepts behind multiplication. We want students to recognize that multiplication stands for "equal groups of" an item. It also is repeated addition.
