Check extra clothes, and bring in warm weather items. It is doctor recommended not to able regular sunscreen until 6 months. We are able to apply with a permission slip. Please supply us with sunscreen. Also When we go outside, it is required to have feet covered with shoes, if you are able to move and crawl. So please have sho a available for this purpose. Oh one last thing..don’t forget a sun hat.
What is that?
- What is Muffins with Mom? Come in at pickup or drop off and join your kiddo for a muffin, milk, and juice and pick up a special present made just for you!
- What is Family Fun Day? Everyone comes with a pitch in item (look for sign up sheet in May) to hang out, eat, and watch the kiddos graduation ceremony. It's a super great time! (Just my opinion). This year it will be at Hamilton Sports Complex.
- What is Donuts with Dad? Same as Mother's Day but instead enjoy some donuts...oh yeah!
IN THE CLASSROOM
Gross Motor: Bending and lifting. Carrying things and coordination. Running outside.
Social-Emotional: grouping the kiddos during play. Learning how to play together instead of side by side. Using words like, "it's your friends turn." saying hi to each child, and instilling confidence. We are emphasizing please and thank you, and your're welcome.
Sensory, Art, Science
Getting into serious play!
Just a reminder to new parents, we like to touch and explore all kinds of things that will enter the mouth. if ever you are concerned with a food allergy, or an ingredient, please mention it. We always make it nontoxic of course. Outside play comes with dirt. Please remember, clothes will get dirty. If ever there is an outfit that you would rather not be stained, let us know!
Math:
Snack Math. We count it all! We never miss an opportunity to practice math We will explore directional position in space, and depth perception when we use the tunnel, and during outside play. We are learning next to and in front and behind. We are following one step commands.
Dramatic Play:
Each one of the babies, show such dramatic personalities. We are talking with the kids about Caring for each other. Dramatic play teaches self-regulation. Preschoolers are known for acting with impulse, so dramatic play is a great stepping stone for learning to self-regulate their emotions and actions. With a group of young infants and older infants, we are learning one at a time and be careful around the baby.
Zoophonics: phonics, teaching how letters and syllables correspond to sounds.
Zoo-phonics® is a method developed to make children strong readers and spellers using a “phono” (hearing), “oral” (speaking), “visual” (seeing), “kinesthetic” (moving), and tactile (touching)—whole brain approach. Students actually learn the sounds of the alphabet and advanced phonemic concepts through an easily understood, concrete method of presentation. Zoo-phonics® uses animals drawn in the shapes of the letters for ease in memory. There are links attached below where you can check out more about Zoophonics.

- Is there ever a time when you say to yourself, " I wonder if The Tot Spot would want this"? We could use it in so many ways. You may have babies, but the whole school is yours. Everything can turn into a sensory activity or learning experience. So, before you throw out your junk, ask your teacher if it could be used
Teacher Spotlight!
Question: If you could give up one household chore which would it be and why?
