Latest and greatest school updates: Week 2
Principal's Message
Beginning with the Houston ISD Ready-Set-Go Plan, there is a lot of change this school year and we (staff and students) are learning to adapt (#GrizzliesAdapt). Administrators, teachers, and students are all adjusting to a new normal with protocols and academics aimed at closing any gaps.
West Briar's instructional focus is to start strong by assessing understanding, but to also focus on social-emotional growth by encouraging our students to #BeKind. To build a strong West Briar community, I need your help. Please encourage our students to reach out with Random Acts of Kindness (RAK) and/or help another student acclimate to #GrizzlyValues.
It's time to work West Briar....let's make it a fantastic year for all Grizzlies by helping one another succeed.

"First Day Packets" (Paper Copies) Going home Monday, August 30th
Each year, all parents must complete a series of forms for each student enrolled in an HISD school. These are sometimes referred to as "First Day Packets."
- If your student is absent, they can take it home the next time they attend their 7th period class.
Please sign and return the following forms (to the student's 1st period teacher) by Friday, September 3rd:
- Houston ISD Code of Conduct Acknowledgement Page-signed by both student and parent. The HISD Code of Conduct can be found here, but if you would like a hard copy of the entire Code of Conduct, indicate this on the returned acknowledgement page and one will be given to your student.
- Media Release Form
- Socioeconomic Form- This form indicates whether a student qualifies for free/reduced lunch, but needs to be completed by all students.
- PTO Flyer- this includes all the fantastic activities that our PTO help our community with, how to join, and how to contribute. All PTO information is available on the PTO website.
It is imperative that we have signed forms for each West Briar student that will be filed for the 2021-2022 school year.
