On This Day In History
On September 30th:
The notorious Munich Agreement, in which Britain's Neville Chamberlain encouraged Britain and France to appease Adolf Hitler's demands in the hope of preventing World War II, was reached on this day in 1938.
American baseball player Babe Ruth became the first player to hit 60 home runs in a single season; his record stood until Roger Maris hit 61 in 1961.
American actor James Dean, who became a symbol of the confused, restless, and idealistic youth of the 1950s, died in an automobile crash as he drove to a car rally in Salinas, California.
French physicist Jean Perrin, who received the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1926 for his studies of the Brownian motion of minute particles, was born. Taken from Britannica.com --Kennedy Vaughn

Upper School Bible Study
Today, September 30th, the upper school had before school student led Bible study. Boys were led by Jared, and the girls were led by Audrey H. The topic for today was that God can have a purpose for you, even if you are young. We looked in Exodus on the story of Miriam, Moses’ older sister and how she guided Moses down the river. By following God’s will for her she was able to help save her younger brother’s life. A big thanks to Daniel and Whitney Dody, who organize Bible study for us.

Pep Club Hosts "PINK OUT"
CCA Pink Out 2022 was a huge success! It was so encouraging to see all of the fans and volleyball players wearing pink. Pep club hosted face painting, a bake sale and 50/50 raffle. Proceeds for the bake sale and face painting totaled $337 and benefited Pep Club. The 50/50 raffle, private donations and selling of t-shirts this summer brought in $1167. Students who gave $1 to support breast cancer and wore pink on Monday, September 26th raised $294.
The first game was the fifth and sixth grade scrimmage, and you could see how much they had improved since the beginning of the season. After that, the Junior High and Varsity teams played against Outreach. Junior High talked very well, which made their defense incredible. They won both sets, with Brynn and Maggie getting multiple aces.
Varsity played a great game, with multiple players getting aces and assists. They won both sets against Outreach.
Thank you all who came and supported those who are fighting breast cancer and those who have overcome it. --Kennedy Vaughn
