Social media trend alert: Paqui “one-chip challenge”
Please have a conversation at home about a social media trend that is circulating: the Paqui “one-chip challenge”. These chips, which are 5,000 times as hot as a jalapeño pepper, come in a coffin-shaped box and usually have a skull on the box or packaging. Students are challenged to eat the chip and film their reactions. Students in other areas have vomited, experienced trouble breathing, and been hospitalized after participating.
We have had CCSD 89 students bring Paqui chips to school. Paqui chips are not allowed at school.
We encourage you to have a conversation with your children about this challenge and about the importance of telling an adult if they know of a student bringing these chips to school.
