Teaching children to read is a team effort. We hope that you leave today with additional knowledge about our library program and how we are supporting your child's literacy skills here at school. We also hope you learn about some literacy tools and resources that will help you support your child at home.
Library Program Calendar and Overview

- Bi-Weekly Library Visits for PK4 - 5th Grades. PK3 will begin in 2019
- PK - 1st Grades check out 2 books every 2 weeks

Accelerated Reader (AR) - 2nd - 5th grades sponsored by the Casey PTA. Online reading incentive program. AR Reward Days. Grade level goals. 1st AR Contest Oct. 2 - December 8th. AR Reward Day #1 to go see "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" in January 2018.

Casey Library Collection - Over 20,000 books in English and Spanish. Classes visit the library bi-weekly for library lessons and to check-out books.

- Collect Box Tops! This helps pay for our AR program
- Fundraisers - book fair, read-a-thon, and other library fundraisers
- Volunteer - Help shelve books and help with creative projects
- Promote Reading - Ask your children about their visits to the library

1. Completion of library Maker Space (STEAM and maker equipment and materials).
2. Purchase new books and library materials in English and Spanish.
3. Fund AR Reward Day celebrations (field trips, water slides, etc.).
Please donate money and sponsor our readers! You can also help us by spreading the word via social media. Our goal for this year is $5000.00. Highest earning class at each grade level will earn a special reward. Students that raise the most money will also be rewarded. Via Read-A-Thon.com, students can use a portion of the money they raise to shop for cool prizes on the Read-A-Thon.com website.
