Ms. Gebhard's 1st Grade Class
Make Yourself Proud!
Classroom Update
The time is flying by! We are keeping busy in first grade as we approach winter break. You may have noticed last week an addition to the homework. Each week students should work on completing two written response questions to help with their ability to talk about and write about a story or nonfiction text they have read. We have been working hard during Daily 5 to learn about how to respond to these questions with a complete sentence, using details from the text. Students should be familiar with these types of questions.
Winter concert update: There will be no K-2 concert on 12/9. Our concert will be on 12/17 and it will be grades 1-5, so our class will be performing. You should have received a participation sheet. Please return this so we know who is attending. The concert starts at 6pm and your student should find me when they arrive. We will be gathering together to be ready for our performance.
Mrs. Eggett kicked off our week with a coding lesson for The Hour of Code. Here is a link to resources that your child can use at home to learn more about computer coding.
I will be sending home student log-in information again for Splash Math. This is a great resource to use over the holidays and continue with throughout the year for additional math practice.
I hope you all have a wonderful and relaxing holiday break!
