My Superman

By Katherine

MY HERO

Every child learns that 2 + 2 = 4, that the cat runs fast, and that reading is a life skill. For some people, it might be harder to grasp onto these concepts that most others fly right through. Dyslexia is the most common learning disorder, and it affects Peter Figura, my personal hero. Peter has learned how to persevere through challenges that others may not have been able to, and has taught me that you can overcome anything along the way. Recently, Peter has overcome his learning challenge so much that he no longer needs an IEP (Individualized Education Program). Peter Figura is my personal hero because he shows how going above and beyond can help a person in the longterm.
