IUSD’s Irvine Family Resource Center is currently offering Parent Enrichment workshops. You can find more information regarding their upcoming Parenting from the Heart workshop Click here for flyer. Additionally, the IFRC will be hosting a Virtual Mental Health Presentation on March 7, 2023 from 6 p.m.-7 p. m. on “Helping Your Child Thrive In An Upside-Down World”. In this presentation, Dr. Peter Nierman, Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist from Aliso Ridge, will discuss ways for parents to help their children navigate a rapidly changing world. Dr. Peter Nierman hopes to increase awareness of the unprecedented challenges faced by students today and provide strategies for optimizing effective parenting. Targeted audience: Pre-K to 12th grade parents. Click here to register

IUSD in collaboration with OCDE: will be providing zoom presentations throughout the spring. They will cover topics and challenges that students and families face in relation to school-based mental health. Join us in the discussion! The details for the second workshop of the series are below along with the registration link.


We will be discussing the difference between positive and negative stress. We will also cover the biggest stressors on students, the impact that stress can have on the brain and behavior, as well as steps that parents and other support providers can take to help students dealing with the negative effects of stress.

Irvine Junior Games- Registration is open for the Irvine Junior Games track meet. The Junior Games will be held Sunday, May 7th at Irvine Stadium. Families who are interested simply need to go to https://irvinechildrensfund.org/irvine-junior-games/ and sign up. Registrations are limited and close on March 17th – the sooner you register the better! For those who don’t know, the Irvine Junior Games are a one-day track and field event for 4th-8th grade IUSD students On May 7th. Proceeds from registrations go to the Irvine Children’s Fund. Care Solace has a dedicated multilingual Care Concierge team of experts available 24/7 to help staff and families through the process of connecting to available, verified community-based mental health providers matched to their needs. Irvine Parent Education Programs (IPEP)- FREE seminars and educational workshops offered to Irvine parents throughout the school year. The goal is to empower parents with the skills and strategies necessary to become active participants in their child’s education. Ethnic Studies Parent Committee Members Needed- IUSD is looking for parents to collaborate on the planning and creation of an Ethnic Studies course, a new California graduation requirement for the class of 2029-30. The Ethnic Studies Committee will come together to create a cohesive vision and identify next steps for implementation.

If you are interested in joining the Ethnic Studies Committee, complete this interest survey. We will reach out to you for more information once we finalize the participant list.

IUCPTA Scholarship- The scholarship will go to graduating seniors and will be used towards continued education after graduation. Recipients must attend an accredited college/university, community college, trade or technical school within the first year following high school graduation.Qualifications: This scholarship recognizes students who are PTSA members and whom have performed service activities inside and outside of school.
