Harmony means to be in agreement. It is meant to be a pleasing combination treated as a whole. It is created through the blending of textures, shapes, and colors in a floral arrangement. This also means that the container, style of design, and the particular surroundings should correlate with the floral piece in order to create harmony.
A Purple Wedding!
Notice how this arrangement harmonizes with its surroundings, the purple bridesmaids dress.
Warm Colors!
All of these colors fit in the same category as warm colors, It wouldn't make sense to mix orange with blues.
Scheme!
All of the colors in this arrangement fit in the same color scheme. Not one flower brings more attention to it than other.
HOW TO ACHIEVE HARMONY
- What is the mood or theme?
- Is everything in fine tune?
- Make sure nothing sticks out and everything is blended together
- What colors, textures, and shapes are needed to match this theme?
- Stay in the scheme
- Dont mix warm colors with cool colors. Stay on one side of the color wheel!
- Does everything mix well together and look like a whole arrangement in the end?
