The American Revolution
How the Americans took down the largest Army in the World
WHY HELLO THERE
HELLO THERE! My name is Vinnie Jeffords, from Wisconsin. When you read this Smore, you learn about the American Revolution, and how the American Army took down the largest Army in the world! (Britain.)
FREEDOM AND INDEPENDENCE
The American Revolution was the Americans fighting for their freedom. That hasn't slipped their mind throughout the entire war, through the cold days, the starvation, and thirst. Through the tough and tiring war, they never stopped thinking about the freedom they would have, and the gratitude of winning, for their country!
SOME PEOPLE YOU SHOULD KNOW
George Washington
George Washington. An excellent leader in a war which led a poor untrained troop to victory in one of the most astounding wars ever.
King George III
Unless you were a red coat or a loser Loyalist, then you would HATE this guy. I mean HATE this guy. Controlling, dumb, and when he didn't get his way, he taxed just about EVERYTHING. The leader of the largest troop in the world at the moment led his very well trained team to defeat! LOL! WHAT A LOSER!
Paul Revere
This man made the midnight ride throughout the 13 colonies! His famous phrase: "The british are coming! The British are coming!" was the alert to everyone throughout the colonies that a war was coming.
They Really Knew Their Land!
If it wasn't for the knowledge of the land they had the war on, we might have not have won. (That grammar though) And the fact that the British had to go over such a great distance of sea gave the Americans the advantage of hiding spots, and secret ambushes, because they knew their land and had more time to plan then them.
They got some help dawg
French
French waited until the French absolutely KNEW that America was gonna win, they stepped in and helped. They even sent ammunition and food. That was one LARGE exponent to winning this astounding war.
Spain
Same for Spain. Spain and France both helped America when they found out that America is for sure going to win.
People from Around the Colonies
(Yes, I know I already used this picture) Obviously, people from all 13 colonies helped win the war. The support, the food, the shelter, the volunteers for the war. The 13 colonies took more part in the war than France and Spain.
Benefits to Winning the War
The thirteen colonies became an independent nation called the United States of America, and was recognized by Britain. Also, Britain gave the United States lots of Land. British taxes and control of American trade was lifted. And finally, the successful revolution encouraged other people, especially the French to overthrow their government.
