Attendance
During times of connectivity/technical issues with devices at West Ada School District absences will not be counted against the student's overall attendance.
Masks
Masks/face coverings are required once students go back to in person learning (Sept. 14 alternate day schedule). Students that are not able to wear a mask due to a medical condition must provide a note from a medical professional excusing them from the mask mandate. Please give the note to your school nurse. Those students with an existing IEP or 504 that list a mask exclusion in the accommodations, do not need to provide a note from the medical provider. Masks do not replace the need to physically distance by 6 feet.
Athletics
The West Ada School District will allow parents of participants to attend games while in yellow according to the athletic plan. Please help us help your student keep playing by following the set expectations. Middle School Gym Requirements: only one parent per player if you are the visiting team is allowed to attend. Physically distance throughout facility and avoid congregating. This only applies to games in the WASD schools. Games against schools in other district’s will be required to follow their guidelines, which may include no fans.
Physical Distancing, Face Masks and Sanitation
- Six feet of space from non-family members
- Facilities marked indicating six feet of distance
- Face masks are required for attendees of any activity.
- Attendees may access hand-washing stations and restroom sinks.
Ticket Sales, Concessions (For High Schools)
- Gates will open earlier than usual to accommodate lines and physical distancing.
- Clear acrylic barriers, face masks, disposable gloves and hand sanitizer in use by staff.
- Home team may pre-pay or use credit cards for ticket purchases.
- Visiting team may use credit cards for ticket purchases.
- Both teams will provide roster with parent names that can be admitted.
- Only pre-packaged items available for purchase.
Entrance and Exit
- Maps identifying entrance and exit routes will be clearly displayed.
- Public announcement system used to guide attendees’ exit from facilities.
Virtual School House Operations During Yellow
Students attending Virtual School House will remain in online learning and instruction will not move to a yellow category of operation. As a result of this decision, some parents may choose to un-enroll from Virtual School House and return to their address-based brick and mortar school.
The last day to request un-enrollment from Virtual School House, using the form below, and return to your West Ada brick and mortar school is September 11, 2020 at midnight.
Upcoming Events
September 14 - School is in Yellow category of operations - alternate day schedule begins
October 14 - No school for grades K-12; seniors take SAT and sophomores take PSAT
