- hosting a lunch so if your child has a friend or family member who would like to be recognized, please click here to complete the special invitation,
- preparing a special visual representation - please consider scanning and emailing pictures to svass@cbsd.org (or send the picture in and we will scan it and return it to you).

6th Annual Race For Education Fundraiser Was A Huge Success- A Thank-You Letter From The Co-Chairs
Due to the weather the race took place on Monday, October 27, 2014; it was a beautiful fall day. The Gayman teachers and students came prepared to participate in the race. There were many smiling faces and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. The students had a sense of pride that they were helping make their school a better place. Some kids that enjoy running pushed themselves and tried to break their own personal record from the year before, others walked and talked while they enjoyed the company of their friends. I want to take a moment to thank all of the volunteers that helped that day and the parents that took the time to encourage the kids and the Gayman Community for cheering them on.
The Race for Education (RFE) is Gayman's primary fundraiser. We raised $30,000 for our school and provided a healthy activity for the children to participate in to help their school. The Home and School budget is fully funded by the money raised by the RFE, and we have been able to provide many enhancements to our school. This year the Home and School Association will use a portion of the funds to purchase a gaga pit. It will be an outside activity for the kids to use during recess.
This year we introduced the concept of the "sneaker", thanks to Mr. Foster. He shared that this was part of the mailer at his children's school and thought it would work at Gayman. The race committee loved the idea, and included a blank sneaker with each blue mailer that was sent home with the students. When the donations were mailed in, many of them included decorated sneakers. These sneakers decorated our school and brought a sense of pride and the children could see their artwork from their family and friends. We extend a special thanks to Mr. Foster for sharing this great idea.
